Dr. Palan Thirunavukkarasu
Palan is an Australian trained surgeon. He completed his medical degree in India and his internship in Malaysia. He relocated to Perth in 2004 and completed his surgical training and fellowship in General Surgery. Palan then completed his advanced surgical training in
- General Surgery; and
- Breast Oncoplasty
at Perth’s tertiary hospitals. Palan is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Palan provides a patient centred approach by integrating surgical knowledge, and clinical skills in the provision of continuous patient care. His care starts from the initial consult until discharge and follow up care. He is respected for his patient advocacy, empathy and compassionate care.
Palan is committed to lifelong reflective learning. He mentors junior medical staff and students. Palan is also a mentor and examiner for Surgical Trainees. As a Consultant he especially enjoys mentoring students and trainees.
When not working hard for his patients, Palan enjoys spending time with his family (including his 3 cats and geriatric golden retriever) and travelling.

Ann Marie Edwards
Ann Marie has over 10 years’ experience working in various medical administrative roles with healthcare professionals in multiple specialities. She has built a strong foundation through these various roles including, working as a medical receptionist in a GP clinic and private physio clinic, as a ward clerk in a public hospital and as a medical secretary in a private hospital. These diverse roles lead Ann Marie to the opportunity to transition into a managerial role and manage Dr Palan Thirunavukkarasu’s practice.
Ann Marie recently won a scholarship through AMA and is undertaking a dual diploma in practice management and leadership and management to further her knowledge and skills.
Known for her friendly and compassionate nature, Ann Marie is dedicated to creating a positive and welcoming experience for all and aims to deliver a high quality of patient care.
Outside of work, Ann Marie enjoys socialising with friends and trying new restaurants and bars, travelling with her sister, and going on road trips and staycations down south for the long weekends.
